How to Find Information about an Officer or Statutory Agent
Use the List Business Entities By Agent link to get a list of all statutory agents, officers, and directors on the system.
At the top of this screen, you will see a box marked Agent Name. Enter the first few letters or words of the
person's name here. There are also buttons for an alphabetic or word search. The word search employs
all of the features listed under Advanced Searches.
You will also see the words "Include As Officer" and two mutually-exclusive buttons marked "Yes"
and "No". If you wish to see only statutory agents listed, choose "No". If you choose "Yes" (the default), you
will see this person's name listed in any and all capacities.
When you have made your choices, click on the Search button.
NOTE: The alphabetic search is based on the full name of the agent or officer, which may be an individual
or a business entity. For individuals, the name is listed first name, middle initial (sometimes), and then last name.
Again, you will have the ability to scroll forward and backward alphabetically using the arrow icons at the bottom
of the screen. If you only know the individual's last name, try using the "word" search feature.
Many people will want to know why an individual or business entity appears several times on the search screen.
There are various reasons, but one primary reason is separate mailing addresses. Another reason is that agents
for limited liability companies must be maintained individually, in a different manner than those maintained for
corporations.
Again, once you find the correct name, you can select that name to get a list of all corporations and limited
liability companies for that agent. From there, you can also select the business entity name to get detailed information.
Furthermore, if you click on the "Title" next to the business entity name, you will see a list of all of the
Officers and Directors for that entity.
To return to the main menu, use the links on the bottom of each screen, or your browser's BACK button.
